The Reading series...an ongoing open cast rehearsed reading series
A workshop for actors, directors, writers, and producers,
showcasing both new material and new performers
We are looking for adventurous types
looking to move beyond classroom exercise or scene work
and to work with full scripts in a public setting.
Each week the workshop seeks to discover and develop projects.
At the center of the workshop is an ongoing reading series
designed to showcase new material and new actors.
Each weeks project is also examined in terms of the nuts and bolts of moving it to the next level.
Whatever that might be. A re write, a re-casting or more re-hearsal.
We are currently planning 2008
We welcome all skill levels.
The intention of the class is to hook up talent with talent
in a supportive, critically positive, environment.
The class is moderated by Jeff Murray, 323 422 6361.
Under the logo of The New Theater League Repertory, Walter Raney combines an acting workshop with an ongoing 8pm Wednesday night showcase. Admission is free but reservations are recommended. Its a great way to audit the workshop and get a look at the technique and results of this well respected teacher. Also the audience members are usually quite impressive. Always a Hollywood 'face' or two. Call the workshop directly and remember to mention you discovered him on the Theatre Theater website.
